Sibeliuksen syntymäkoti on sisustettu Jannen lapsuuden aikaiseen asuun. Museon pysyvä näyttely kertoo Jean Sibeliuksen poikavuosista sekä aikakauden Hämeenlinnasta.
Rakennus on valmistunut vuonna 1834, ja se on toiminut museona 1960-luvulta saakka. Talossa tehtiin viimeisin laaja restaurointi vuonna 2007.
