Ο ναός των Αγίων Αποστόλων αποτελεί καθολικό μονής, στην οποία ανήκαν ο πυλώνας και η κινστέρνα που βρίσκονται στο άμεσο περιβάλλον του. Ιδρυτής και κτήτωρ του μοναστηριού φέρεται να είναι, βάσει επιγραφών στο ίδιο το μνημείο, ο πατριάχης Νίφων Α΄ (1310 – 1314) και ο μαθητής του, ηγούμενος Παύλος. Ο κομψός ναός, είναι πεντάτρουλος τετρακιόνιος σταυροειδής εγγεγραμμένος, με νάρθηκα, περίστωο και δύο παρεκκλήσια.
