L’Orto Botanico è un museo del Comune di Bergamo inaugurato nel 1972 e riconosciuto da Regione Lombardia dal 2004. È dedicato a Lorenzo Rota (1818-1853) medico e botanico, che per primo descrisse la flora della provincia di Bergamo. La sezione di Città Alta, posta su una spalto delle Mura Venete del XVI secolo, è suddivisa in aiuole tematiche in larga misura dedicate alla flora autoctona, dalle piante dei boschi di latifoglie mesofile alle alpine, da quelle di ambienti acquatici alle ruderali.
