The Magyar Millennium Park, or Hungarian Garden, situated a couple of blocks up from Parliament, is New Zealand’s only national Hungarian memorial. It was created to promote Hungarian-New Zealand relations and is an expression of Hungarians’ appreciation to New Zealand for taking in so many Hungarian refugees after the Hungarian Revolution.
