Konak-Alsancak'ın Atatürk Caddesi'nde yer alan meydana 2003 yılında bir de heykel yaptırılmıştır. Klasik heykellerden farklı olmasıyla dikkat çeken heykelin ismi Cumhuriyet Ağacı'dır. Eser, heykeltıraş Ferit Özşen'e aittir. Şehirdeki birçok organizasyon, konser, miting ve kutlama bu meydanda gerçekleştirilmektedir.
