28 Mayıs 1928’de Şehremaneti (İstanbul Belediyesi) tarafından satın alınan ev, 15 Haziran 1942’de İstanbul Vali ve Belediye Başkanı Lütfi Kırdar tarafından Atatürk İnkılabı Müzesi olarak ziyarete açıldı. 9 Ocak 1962’de geçirdiği yangın tehlikesinden sonra onarılarak 4 Mart 1962’de yeniden açılan müze, 1977’de Turing Otomobil Kurumu ve İş Bankası tarafından restore ettirildi ve 19 Mayıs 1981’de tekrar ziyarete açıldı.
