Clifton Suspension Bridge was designed by the famous engineer, Isambard Kingdom Brunel. When the project began, the bridge was to be the highest and longest in the world - but the works faced many problems and delays and it took 33 years for the bridge to be completed. Today, you can walk across the bridge free of charge to enjoy the amazing achievement of the Victorian engineers, along with magnificent views of the Avon Gorge. Vehicle crossings are charged at £1 each way.
