Back in 1987 we needed a place to go. A place to drink good coffee and watch the world go by. A place where good food was homemade and where the desserts were fresh. We decided to buy and renovate a derelict building on old Route 66 in Nob Hill. Along the way we started a scratch bakery, cooked a lot of good food, learned to roast coffee beans and got so busy that we had to build more cafes.
