Cincinnati Parks has temporarily closed off a section of Burnet Woods Drive Road to vehicle traffic within the park. The aim is to improve pedestrian and bicycle safety in the heart of Burnet Woods. For 90 days Cincinnati Parks collected public feedback on the temporary closure, we are now reviewing the results and will get back to the community soon.

The Frederick H. Alms Memorial Park on Mt. Tusculum offers a magnificent view of the Ohio River at a point originally called “Bald Hill” because local Native Americans cleared the trees to have an unobstructed view of early settlers of “Columbia.” This hilltop 94-acre park was given to the Park Board in 1916 as a memorial to Frederick H. Alms by his wife. The land was once owned by Nicholas Longworth, who produced his Catawba wine there before the Civil War.

A narrow winding road through the park surrounds the slopes of Fairview Heights and offers a fantastic view of the Cincinnati skyline, Union Terminal, and the Ohio River in the distance. You can travel in your car for about a mile and enjoy a continuous panoramic view of the city. There is also a stonewall area overlook where you can sit and watch the hustle and bustle of the Queen City. Many tall evergreens and sycamores line the roadway.
