In 1883, Franklin Smith, an architect and merchant from Boston, built his winter home, the Villa Zorayda. He utilized architectural details from the Alhambra Palace in Granada, Spain to bring part of Spain to Spanish St. Augustine. Today the Villa Zorayda is a museum with beautiful art and antiquities and over 140 years of history. Audio guided tours offered daily in English, Spanish, and French. The Museum may also be rented for Elopements and Wedding Ceremonies.
