The Fountain of Youth Archaeological Park is a 15-acre, waterfront historical attraction, where visitors can learn about the first Spanish settlers who came here in the 1600s and the native Timucuans who were here to greet them. With a working archaeological dig on site, as well as several re-created Spanish and Timucuan buildings and dwellings, the park is bursting with history.

Home to prisoners for over 60 years, the Old Jail in St. Augustine looks more like a resort than a maximum-security facility. The original structure was built in 1891 by Henry Flagler; and although it has been restored and renovated throughout the years, it looks very much the way it did when it opened over a century ago. The historic jail, now on the U.S. National Register of Historic Places, served the city of St. Augustine from 1891-1953.

In 1883, Franklin Smith, an architect and merchant from Boston, built his winter home, the Villa Zorayda. He utilized architectural details from the Alhambra Palace in Granada, Spain to bring part of Spain to Spanish St. Augustine. Today the Villa Zorayda is a museum with beautiful art and antiquities and over 140 years of history. Audio guided tours offered daily in English, Spanish, and French. The Museum may also be rented for Elopements and Wedding Ceremonies.
