Carlow County Museum is a hidden treasure located in Carlow Town’s Cultural Quarter. Admission is free and is entered through the Carlow Tourist Office. No booking required, just turn up and enjoy! Tours for groups of 10 or more must be prebooked by contacting the Museum directly. Undertake the Museum’s Detective Quiz as a family to discover our many historical gems. Spanning four galleries, the museum has a wide collection of objects from County Carlow, some of national and international importance including: the original gallows trapdoor from Carlow Gaol and the beautiful 6 metre 19th century hand carved pulpit made in Belgium for Carlow Cathedral, …and so much more! Opened Monday to Friday - 10:00am to 4.30pm (last entry 4.00pm).
