Venue description

Dover Museum and Bronze Age Boat Gallery tells the story of the port and town of Dover from Neolithic times to the modern day. Displays feature local archaeological finds, models charting the development of the harbour, and our famous polar bear, known as Fred! The Dover Bronze Age Boat, the world's oldest known seagoing vessel, is displayed in its own gallery alongside an exhibition on Bronze Age life. The Special Exhibition Gallery features a new display each year. Recent subjects include the Dunkirk evacuation, smuggling and the Goodwin Sands. Opening hours: Monday - Saturday 9:30am-5pm (year-round) Sunday 10am-3pm (April - September only)
