Venue description

Sun Yat Sen Museum Penang is a traditional house museum which showcases Malaysian tropical architecture and an authentic peranakan interior. Located along the famous Armenian Street, the Sun Yat Sen Museum is a must-see attraction in the George Town World Heritage Site. The exhibition reveals the significance of an important revolutionary meeting held here in 1910 by Dr Sun Yat Sen who became the first president of modern China. Founded by author and publisher Khoo Salma Nasution, this museum was opened by the Malaysian Prime MInister in 2001, visited by many China dignitaries since 2002 and by Prince (now King) Charles in 2017. It was featured in a Chinese movie Road To Dawn (2007) and Tan Twan Eng's novel The House of Doors (2023).
