Since 1936, Les Negociants has been the major landmark of the city centre of Marrakech and the city as a whole. Witnessing the coming and going of the citizens of Marrakech and its visitors, it has had a part in shaping modern Marrakech. Once a popular gatherer of colonials, Les Negociants gradually became a venue of the local elite and tourists from all around the world. Today it has become synonymous with Gueliz, proudly continuing to serve Marrakech.
