Venue description

A particularly well-known part of the Danish resistance movement, "Holger Danske", was founded in the back room of Stjerne Radio on Istedgade 31. Find more info on our Facebook Page “Stjerne Radio” or webpage. It all started in September 1942, Carl Munck took over a butter shop in Istedgade 31, and the premises was rebuilt to Stjerne Radio (Star Radio) where radio receivers and gramophones were now sold. On the facade there was a very large sign, which indicated that there was the Star Radio. What happened in the back room of Stjerne Radio, was becoming history as it was here anti-german actions was planned and executed from - Illegal magazines were produced and several successful missions was carried out.
