The Gillian Lynne Theatre made history in May 2018 when it became the first West End venue to be named after a woman, in honour of Dame Gillian’s outstanding contribution to musical theatre – primarily as choreographer of the groundbreaking production of Cats, which ran here for over 21 amazing years. Other smash-hit sensations have included the original London production of Grease starring Richard Gere, the record-breaking War Horse, and Andrew Lloyd Webber’s rock-tastic reimagining of School of Rock. In 2021, the venue reopened with Andrew Lloyd Webber's brand new musical Cinderella. It is soon to be home to Standing at the Sky's Edge - 2023 Olivier Award winner for Best New Musical - opening 9 February 2024
