Venue description

The Electric City Trolley Museum collection provides a highly representative picture of the electric railway history of Eastern Pennsylvania, from the Philadelphia region to Northeast Pennsylvania. The scenic trolley excursion route follows a portion of the former Lackawanna & Wyoming Valley (Laurel Line) Railroad right-of-way, as it parallels Roaring Brook , proceeds past the Historical Iron Furnaces and continues through the Crown avenue Tunnel at 4,747 feet long (almost 1 mile) - one of the longest interurban tunnels ever built. All trolley excursions depart from the main passenger platform of the Steamtown National Historic Site, while boarding areas are between the Trolley Museum building and the main Steamtown facilities.
