Venue description

Founded in 1788, it is the oldest library in Belfast and the only remaining library in Ireland that still generates a proportion of its income from membership. In more recent years, we are also an accredited museum and a living archive holding world-renowned collections, like the Irish and Local Studies Collection, to the Northern Ireland Political Collection, the definitive archive of the recent ‘Troubles’. The Linen Hall operates an Arts and Culture Space that hosts hundreds of events and exhibitions every year. The Linen Hall Café is a hidden culinary gem of the city. The café prides itself on its locally sourced produce, including ethically resourced coffee and beverages.
