Venue description

Get up close and personal with the everyday life of Danish working class families in the historical Assembly Hall fra 1879 in the centre of Copenhagen. Step out into the backyard where the laundry hangs on clothes lines, and let yourself be guided through small flats, steep staircases, outdoor latrines, the beautiful banquet hall and the old trade union office. Learn about the struggles which ordinary workers have faced for more than 150 years. Let the kids go play in the old grocery shop with goods, scales and pocket change and land a job at the brewery or as a bicycle delivery boy or girl. Free admittance for kids up to 18y. Take a break in the authentic 1950s coffee bar and have traditional 'smørrebrød' for lunch in the restaurant.
