Venue description

Last entry 4.15pm, closes at 5pm. The cathedral is a working church and opening hours may vary. Please check our website for more details. The most complete medieval cathedral on the Scottish mainland is still a working church with an active congregation. From its magnificent nave and choir to the atmospheric crypt of St Mungo, who was supposedly buried here around AD 612. The cathedral is full of intriguing features. Look for the tomb of Bishop Wishart, a key supporter of Robert the Bruce, and carvings of 11 figures - perhaps the faithful disciples of Christ - on the stone pulpitum screen.
