Venue description

Murphy’s is an award-winning traditional Irish pub in the heart of Galway city. It was first established as a public house in the mid 1800s. Philip Murphy purchased the bar in 1931 on his return from America, and it remained in the Murphy family for 3 generations. In 2022, Louis Fitzgerald purchased the bar from the Murphy family, upholding the traditions and character that has made Murphy’s a much loved bar in Galway for so many years. You can view stained glass partitions, old Irish snugs and the entire homely feel throughout the pub – and it’s home to the best pint in Galway!
