先斗町歌舞練場は大正１４年（１９２５年）に着工し、昭和２年（１９２７年）に完成しました。 設計は大阪松竹座（大正１２年）東京劇場（昭和２年）などを手がけて劇場建築の名手といわれた大林組の技師、木村得三郎氏です。 先斗町歌舞練場は、五花街で開催される“をどり”公演の中でも最も多くの上演回数を誇る『鴨川をどり』の会場となっています。 今や京都の春の風物詩となった『鴨川をどり』の歴史は古く、明治５年（１８７２年）に創演されたのがはじまりです。 『鴨川をどり』等当歌舞会主催の行事以外には、幅広く一般の方々にご利用頂けます。 邦楽邦舞の発表会は勿論の事、演奏会、講演会、各種リサイタル、コンサートなど多目的なニーズに対応すべく諸設備を整えております。 又、3階、4階の大広間はおさらい会、お稽古場、展示場としての機能を備えた会場としてご利用頂けます。
