1966（昭和41）年、日本初の日本画専門の美術館として開館。 2009（平成21）年、渋谷区広尾に移転、新美術館としてオープンしました。 創立者・山﨑種二の「美術を通じて社会、特に文化のために貢献する」という理念を受け継ぎ日本画の魅力を発信する美術館です。 Yamatane Museum of Art was founded in 1966 by Taneji Yamazaki who has donated his numerous collection of Japanese art. The ex-chairman of the Yamatane Art Foundation, Tomiji Yamazaki collected 105 works of Hayami Gyoshu known as one of the most respected Japanese artists among scholars and collectors.
