The grounds of the cathedral are open and are accessible free of charge. Due to essential maintenance, St Rule's Tower and the Museum are currently closed and sections of the graveyard are fenced off due to unstable gravestones. Last entry 3.15pm. The magnificent medieval ruins stand on a site used for Christian worship since the 8th century when the relics of St Andrew were reputedly brought here.
