From these trails, hikers can reach the base of The Rock and are afforded panoramic views of Downtown Castle Rock, the Interstate 25 corridor, Pikes Peak and the Front Range. Please use caution when navigating the uneven terrain of this relatively short but steep climb. There is a 370-foot elevation difference from bottom to top (6,220 feet to 6,590 feet).

An 8-foot-wide concrete trail connects to a network of unpaved trails and open space. The moderate-difficulty trail is great for mountain biking. This area provides a quick escape into forested open space from nearby Downtown Castle Rock. The 43-acre parcel is located south of South Ridge Elementary School and can be accessed from a paved trail at Oman Road or the main trailhead parking lot at 150 Oman Road.
