Busyness is shown as a percentage of each venue's own busiest hour of the week (100%), not a head count. The peak hour shows when the average venue is fullest, with its value in brackets.

Friday is the clear high point. The average venue climbs from 50% at 6 PM to 75% at 9 PM, holds 80% at 10 PM and 11 PM, then drops to 55% at midnight. Saturday follows the same shape a step lower, peaking at 75% at 10 PM and 11 PM.

Weeknights build steadily. Monday peaks at 45%, Tuesday at 50%, Wednesday at 55% and Thursday at 60%. The share of lively venues rises the same way, from 33% on Monday to 57% on Thursday.

Late nights are short. Even on Friday the average venue is at 15% by 2 AM. On Sunday it is at 20% by midnight.

Lan Kwai Fong

Lan Kwai Fong is a hilly, L-shaped cobblestone lane in Central, seen as the heart of the city's drinking and clubbing scene. Its 14 venues are busiest on Friday and quietest on Sunday, when none of them is lively. Friday and Saturday both peak at 11 PM. Every venue here is lively on a Friday, and 64% have Friday as their busiest night.

dragon-i, a nightclub and lounge in The Centrium on Wyndham Street, peaks on Friday at 11 PM. The China Bar, Lan Kwai Fong also peaks on Friday at 11 PM. TopTown peaks earlier, on Friday at 9 PM, and is still at 90% at 11 PM.

SoHo

SoHo, uphill from LKF, has 18 venues and is home to award-winning cocktail bars. Friday and Saturday are equally busy, and Monday and Sunday equally quiet. Friday peaks at 10 PM and Saturday at 11 PM. 89% of venues are lively on both nights, and Thursday reaches 61%.

The Globe, a British-style pub on Graham Street known for its wide range of beers, peaks on Saturday at 10 PM. Quinary, a cocktail bar on Hollywood Road known for molecular mixology, peaks on Friday at 10 PM and is at 95% at 11 PM on both Friday and Saturday.

Tsim Sha Tsui

Tsim Sha Tsui is the main nightlife area on the Kowloon side, covering Ashley Road and Knutsford Terrace. Its 16 venues are equally busy on Friday and Saturday, and equally quiet on Monday and Sunday. Friday peaks at 10 PM, and Saturday at 10 PM and 11 PM. Weeknights hold up well: 69% of venues are lively on Wednesday and 75% on Thursday.

NED KELLY'S LAST STAND, an Australian-themed pub on Ashley Road with live jazz, peaks on Friday at 10 PM and is at 90% at 11 PM on Friday. Eyebar, a rooftop bar on the 30th floor of iSquare, peaks on Friday at 8 PM. Lost Stars Livehouse Bar & Eatery peaks on Friday at 6 PM and is at 0% at 11 PM in the forecast.

Wan Chai

Wan Chai's older bar strip runs along Lockhart and Jaffe Roads. Its 10 venues are busiest on Friday, and Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday are equally quiet. Friday peaks at 10 PM and 11 PM, and Saturday at 10 PM. Sunday stands out here: it averages 45%, with 50% of venues lively.

Joe Bananas, a bar and club on Luard Road open since 1986, peaks on Friday at 11 PM. Bar 109 peaks on Saturday at 9 PM and is at 90% at 11 PM on Saturday.

Jordan

Jordan is a cluster of bars that locals go to, just north of Tsim Sha Tsui. Its 6 venues are busiest on Friday and quietest on Sunday. Friday peaks at 10 PM, and Saturday at 10 PM and 11 PM. Every venue is lively on both nights. Early in the week the peak comes early: 6 PM to 8 PM on Tuesday and Wednesday.

Terrible Baby, a cocktail bar with live music inside the Eaton HK hotel, peaks on Saturday at 11 PM. Funky Monkey has its busiest hour on Sunday at 6 PM.
